Process Piece – Reworked Canvas Installation
This work began as part of my Re-work project, where I deconstructed older paintings—cutting them into strips and reattaching them to a new surface in a state of spontaneous play. The process allowed me to reconnect with the joy of making, free from rigid expectations. As artists, we hold on to a unique ability to play, explore, and reimagine, and this piece is a celebration of that freedom.
Inspired by anime and expressive mark-making, this installation reflects a raw, personal narrative. It’s about tearing yourself apart and reassembling in new ways—something we all do to keep growing, adapting, and surviving. The fragmented layers hold past versions of myself, woven into a structure that feels both open and chaotic.
This piece connected me deeply with my inner child. It’s not about perfection—it's about process, emotion, and being brave enough to keep creating from what you already have.
